Aleksey Tentler, MD

Dr. Tentler is a primary care physician for children and adults of all ages, with experience in helping patients maintain and optimize their health, as well as experience in treating both routine illnesses and chronic medical conditions. He is passionate about optimizing the quality of life for his patients, even in situations where the condition itself might not be curable. He believes that the more a patient knows and understands about their health and any conditions they might have, the better they will be at managing their health and wellness with a physician’s guidance.

Dr. Tentler immigrated from Ukraine at the age of 10 and grew up in upstate New York. He completed his medical degree at the University of Rochester and then moved to New Jersey for his residency training in pediatrics and adult internal medicine. After his training, he worked in both the primary care and hospital setting in New Jersey for 9 years before joining Stony Brook in 2022. In addition to his primary care practice, Dr. Tentler serves as the Associate Co-Director of the Stony Brook Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center.
