-I've been an emergency physician for over 30 years

-I chair the Trauma-Informed Care Working Group, am Co-Chair of Emergency Medicine Resident Research, and previously served as Chair of the hospital's Institutional Ethics Committee and as a member of the Stony Brook University Institutional Review Board

-I have longstanding interests in trauma-informed care, patient engagement/shared decision making, health equity, and quality improvement

-In the years following my medical training I sailed to New Zealand with my husband on a 35-foot yacht and worked as a emergency physician in Auckland for a year
