Kai Sturmann, MD

Emergency medicine has been a natural fit for me. I find challenges in all aspects of medicine. The emergency department allows me to address real problems, in real time. While I spent 20 years of my career in New York City on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, my roots in the East End of Long Island go back to my time as an undergraduate at Stony Brook University and Southampton College. My research and academic interests include toxicology and substance use disorder, pain management, and international emergency medicine. Personal passions outside of medicine include my family and time spent outdoors. It is an absolute privilege to take care of our community and its guests on the East End of Long Island.
