Neal Patel, MD

Neal B. Patel, MD, FACC, FSCAI, joined North Suffolk Cardiology in 2011. He is a graduate of the prestigious seven-year BA/MD program at Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in general and interventional cardiology at Boston University Medical Center.

Dr. Patel is a board certified interventional cardiologist with expertise in both preventive and invasive cardiovascular care. His clinical focus is on cardiovascular wellness, metabolic health, and the prevention of coronary artery disease. He takes a comprehensive and individualized approach, emphasizing the power of lifestyle change—including nutrition, structured exercise, and behavior modification—to reduce risk and improve long-term outcomes. In addition to preventive care, Dr. Patel performs advanced interventional procedures, including coronary angioplasty and stenting, as well as catheter-based aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for patients with severe aortic stenosis.

Dr. Patel is the Medical Director of the Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at North Suffolk Cardiology—the first of its kind on Long Island. This innovative program is designed for patients recovering from cardiac events and it integrates supervised exercise training, personalized nutritional guidance, and support for mental and emotional well-being.

Dr. Patel serves as the managing partner of North Suffolk Cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and echocardiography. He is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
