To me, patient care is so much more than following a protocol - it is holding a patient’s hand when they are scared about the future of their pregnancy, it’s explaining all the different types of birth control options and together choosing the best one, it’s saying happy birthday to a tiny little one as their parents welcome them earthside, it’s seeing them become a family and creating relationships that last way past their medical care.
