Adria Gerber, PsyD

Adria M. Gerber, PsyD, is the Director of the Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Testing Program at Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates. She is a New York State Licensed School and Clinical Psychologist and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. Dr. Gerber earned a master of education in school psychology and a dual doctorate in clinical and school psychology from Yeshiva University. She began her career working in local school districts, residential treatment facilities, and private practice, where she specialized in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Her clinical training includes placements in the Farmingdale and Pleasantville School Districts, the Sagamore Psychiatric Center on Long Island, and Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. Since joining the faculty at Stony Brook Medicine, Dr. Gerber has been actively involved in the supervision of psychiatry residents, master’s-level students, and postdoctoral fellows. She also serves as the behavioral health lead for the Adolescent Medicine Team.

Dr. Gerber is extensively trained in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. She has additional training in neuropsychological assessment and oversees ADHD testing services within the Outpatient Psychiatry Department. Her research and clinical interests include the study of ADHD within families and across the lifespan, as well as the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic practices. Dr. Gerber currently provides clinical services at the Stony Brook Medicine Outpatient Psychiatry Department, located at Putnam Hall on the Stony Brook University campus, as well as at the Stony Brook Advanced Specialty Care Clinic in Commack, New York.
