Amruta Desai, DO, MPH, MBA

I enjoy not only the procedural aspect of anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine but love being the person who is able to bring comfort and pain relief in both the hospital and outpatient settings. I am specialized in interventional pain medicine but have significant experience in regional, OB, general, ambulatory anesthesiology.

Additionally, I am very involved in research with multiple publications including studies, book chapters, and editorials at well-respected journals in the field of Anesthesiology and pain medicine. I have been extensively involved in research in the fields of chronic pain management, acute pain management, and regional anesthesia.

I was raised in the town of Stony Brook. My parents have worked at the university for 30+ years. I also attended the university to obtain my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I returned to the area after training to care for my community.
