Dr. Martinez-Tapia received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts & Nevis. Following a residency at St. Luke’s University hospital, Pennsylvania, she went on to complete her fellowship in gastroenterology at Larkin Community Hospital in Hialeah, Florida. Dr. Martinez-Tapia received additional training in the field of IBD through the highly competitive Visiting Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellowship Program offered by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and was awarded the Bristol-Myers Squibb Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Award 2023-2024. Additionally, she was also awarded a travel grant to participate in the American Gastroenterological Association’s (AGA) Diversity in GI Training program at Digestive Disease Week 2022.
Dr. Martinez-Tapia holds memberships in the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS), and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr. Martinez-Tapia, is bilingual with fluency both in English and Spanish. She sees patients at Meeting House Lane Medical Practice in Southampton and Amagansett, as well as Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
