About
Dr. Wackettjoined the faculty at Stony Brook in 2001 and became the Associate Residency Program Director later that year. In 2003, he was appointed Director of Undergraduate Medical Education. Then, in 2010 he joined the Dean's Office as the Assistant Dean of Medical Education and then the the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Director of the Clinical Simulation Center. Since 2020, he has served as the Vice Dean for the Renaissance School of Medicine.
Dr. Wackett's interests include medical education. He teaches residents and medical students of all levels in the classroom, the Emergency Department and in the Clinical Simulation Center. Finally, Dr. Wackett is actively pursuing research in medical education.
