Anne Klassert, NP

I started working as a Registered Nurse in 1983 after receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from Binghamton University.  I worked on various medical/surgical and ICU step down units in my career as an RN. These included multiple leadership positions.  After receiving my Master’s Degree in Adult Health from Stony Brook in 1993, I worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Cardiac Service Line at University Hospital at Stony Brook for two years.  I found I enjoyed direct patient care more than teaching and took a position with Stony Brook Urology as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in 1996.  I have been practicing in the field of urology since then.
I specialize in General Urology and Female Urology.  I treat conditions such as BPH, elevated psa, renal cysts, recurrent urinary tract infections, overactive bladder and incontinence.  I am a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Certified Urology Nurse Practitioner.  I hold memberships in the American Urological Association, Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, New York State Nurse Practitioner Association, Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island and the Professional Nurses Association of Suffolk County.  I am the 1998 recipient of the Suffolk County Nurse of the Year Award.  I am passionate about nursing and have held several leadership positions within nursing organizations including terms as President of the Professional Nurses Association of Suffolk County in 1995 and President of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island in 1997.  I continue to serve in various board and committee positions to promote awareness of Nurse Practitioners and their role in providing quality health care.
