About
Anne Marie Aberman specializes in pediatric emergency medicine. On September 11, 2001, she lived in Manhattan working in publishing. After witnessing the events of that tragic day firsthand, Anne Marie decided she wanted a more meaningful career helping people. She left her job in publishing to become a nurse. Anne Marie spent 16 years as a nurse in the Stony Brook Emergency Department before transitioning to her current role as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Anne Marie developed a love and passion for the pediatric specialty after her daughter was born prematurely and spent two months in the NICU at Stony Brook. She became an advocate for her daughter and uses her personal experience to help her patients and their families through the challenges they face while in the emergency department. Coming to the emergency department with a sick or injured child can be frightening and she strives to provide a calming hand to families while delivering quality care to all her patients.
