Ayesha Munir, MD

Dr. Ayesha Munir is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine. She is a palliative care specialist who treats individuals facing serious life-limiting illness, irrespective of their prognosis, and focuses in improving their quality of life and managing the distressing symptoms caused by the serious illness.  

Dr. Munir completed her medical school at Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College in Pakistan and Internal Medicine residency at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, New York. She then successfully completed the Stony Brook University Hospital Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship.  She subsequently joined as Stony Brook Medicine faculty this past September, 2024.  

Dr. Munir has a passion for treating vulnerable patients including those at end of life, and is dedicated to honing her skills in pain and symptomatic management with lifelong commitment to learning and teaching in Palliative Medicine.
