Barbara Murphy Somers, NP

I am greatly looking forward to this opportunity at  The Stony Brook Pain Management Center.  For 17 years I have treated patients who struggle with pain on a daily basis.  After completing my MSN and Nurse Practitioner Certification I was trained at a large interventional pain practice here on Long Island, working both with hospitalized patients experiencing acute pain and office patients with chronic, daily pain.   Providing them a means to relief, the highest-grade medical interventions, the support to regain strength through physiotherapies, and the knowledge to minimize stress and empower them to continue helping themselves has been my mission.  I look forward to continuing these goals here at Stony Brook Pain Management Center.
