About Barry L Diener

About

I am Barry Diener, faculty of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. I strive to provide compassionate, quality care to children with a wide variety of respiratory diseases. I enjoy working in a team-based approach caring for children with complex medical needs. I enjoy forming long-term relationships with children and their families. I treat patients with many different breathing issues including chronic cough, asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, swallowing dysfunction and chronic aspiration, recurrent pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory complications of neuromuscular diseases. My interests include working in multidisciplinary teams to better care for patients bettering care through quality improvement projects. I completed residency training at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, and then went on to fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I then returned to Long Island, where I grew up, to become part of Stony Brook Children’s.
