Carrie Semelsberger, NP

I have been passionate about Women's Health for as long as I can remember. Before becoming a nurse I was an elementary school teacher and although I loved working with kids, I felt there was something missing. As I went through emotionally difficult fertility treatments, I saw how impactful the field of nursing can be. I had such compassionate, smart nurses taking care of me through my journey and it led me to change careers. I have been a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner for over 10 years now and I have found my calling! I am passionate about caring for women of all ages and I feel it is extremely important to listen to women and provide them with an environment that is welcoming and non-judgmental. I see a lot of young women for their first gynecologic exams, and I feel very strongly that this first visit can make a huge difference in how they view the field of ObGyn. Making women feel comfortable and safe to discuss what is going on with them is of utmost importance to me. I love what I do and feel honored to be working at Stony Brook Medicine in the field of Women's Health.
