Dr. Catherine Urban, fondly called Dr. Cat, is a devoted board-certified Pediatric Intensivist. Her care extends beyond the ICU, aligning seamlessly with her research focus on enteral nutrition, early mobilization, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Dr. Cat collaborates with diverse teams to address complications from prolonged bed rest. As an AAC advocate, she ensures effective communication for every child, using advanced tools. Beyond the hospital, Dr. Cat actively raises awareness about pediatric health, emphasizing issues like homelessness, food insecurity, and injury prevention, including firearm safety.
