About
I am an interventional radiologist- a doctor who uses imaging such as X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound to guide minimally-invasive procedures. I practice general interventional radiology at Stony Brook University Hospital where a large portion of my practice is focused on the diagnosis and minimally-invasive treatment of cancers of the chest and abdomen. I have several areas of subspecialty experience and interest including:
-minimally-invasive treatment of liver and other gastrointestinal cancers by percutaneous and endovascular therapy
-endovascular treatment of the pulmonary arteries including acute pulmonary embolus and pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
-treatment of painful tumors and fractures in the spine by percutaneous ablation and vertebral augmentation (kyphoplasty)
To this end, I attend several multidisciplinary conferences including the Upper GI tumor board, Colorectal tumor board, and Thoracic tumor board where I have built strong relationships with our other subspecialists including oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologists in an effort to offer the best possible combination of therapies to our patients using a team-based approach. I also serve on the University Hospital Radiation Safety committee. My current research interests include the endovascular management of acute pulmonary embolus and the treatment of osteoblastic spinal metastases by ablation and vertebral augmentation.
I was born in Suffolk County and aside from completing my undergraduate education in Nashville, TN, and my first job out of residency at an academic center in Boston, MA. I have lived on Long Island my entire life. I am excited to bring my expertise to Long Island to serve the community that raised me as an interventional radiologist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the Renaissance School of Medicine.
