About

Dr. Darius Sorbi is a board-certified gastroenterologist with a distinguished career in clinical gastroenterology and hepatology, advanced endoscopy, academic teaching and research. He is committed to integrating the latest scientific advances in his practice.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Sorbi has provided comprehensive patient care on the South Shore. He believes in fostering strong relationships with patients, their families, and colleagues alike, emphasizing clear communication, respect and individualized treatment plans.

Dr. Sorbi earned his medical degree from the University of Wurzburg School of Medicine in Germany and completed his residency in internal medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York, and his gastroenterology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Sorbi served as a faculty member involved in medical education, clinical research, and the advancement of evidence-based gastrointestinal care. His prior academic appointments have included serving as the endoscopy director at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as serving on various national committees. His scholarly work has included numerous publications and presentations on digestive diseases, endoscopy, and quality improvement in gastroenterology at national and internal meetings.

Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sorbi is dedicated to serving his local community through leadership and education. His unique combination of medical expertise, global and academic experiences, a diverse cultural background, and a commitment to public service allows him to contribute thoughtfully to the well-being of the local community he serves.
