Diana Patterson, MD

DIANA PATTERSON, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, who also maintains a board certification for her subspecialty of Sports Medicine from ABOS/AOSSM. She treats patients with a broad range of sports and activity-related injuries to the knee, hip and shoulder. Dr. Patterson received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai hospital and then a sports medicine surgery fellowship at Washington University of St. Louis. She has provided sideline care for high school and Division I and III football teams, as well as in the National Hockey League for the St. Louis Blues. Dr. Patterson has extensive training in the latest arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, ligament repair and reconstruction techniques. She has published multiple articles, in many of the top orthopaedic research journals and presented at national and international meetings. Dr. Patterson is treating patients at three Stony Brook locations: Commack, Lake Grove, and Riverhead.
