Donald Heitman, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic injuries and conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He sees patients at Meeting House Lane Medical Practice locations in Hampton Bays, Southampton, and Wainscott, providing comprehensive orthopedic care to patients across the East End.

Dr. Heitman specializes in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques, as well as non-surgical treatment options designed to help patients return to an active lifestyle. He treats a wide range of conditions, including rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability and impingement, labral tears, meniscal tears, ligament injuries, cartilage damage, patellofemoral disorders, and knee arthritis.

He earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine after graduating cum laude from Cornell University. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at Sports Orthopedic and Rehabilitation (SOAR) in California, where he trained alongside physicians caring for collegiate and professional athletes.

Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Heitman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
