Elisha A. Ramos, PA

I have been a Physician Assistant with Stony Brook Kidney Transplant services since 2007. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook Physician Assistant program in 2005. While I was working as PA in OB/GYN, an opportunity to work as PA with the Stony Brook Kidney Transplant program presented itself. I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to make such a dramatic change in fields, but decided to go for the interview anyway. As I was walking through the hospital lobby to my interview, I overhead a distraught gentleman discussing the decision he and his family made to donate his young nephews organs and how it truly gave them solace during such a difficult time. Hearing this conversation made me realize how impactful this opportunity would be and it was at that very moment, I knew this is where I wanted to be. I am humbled every day to be able to make a small difference in our patient’s lives and it has been an honor to work with such an amazing group of individuals.
