I have been working in Neurology for the last 5 years as both a nurse and nurse practitioner.  I first started working in a Neuro ICU and learned many skills that I still use today in practice.  I feel that my background in Neurology of both critical care and outpatient gives me a diverse experience that helps me care for patients and their needs.  I have been a part of the Stony Brook area through sports, school and through my own medical needs.  I work as a neuromuscular nurse practitioner because I am deeply committed to improving the quality of life for patients living with complex, often life-altering neurological conditions. My background as a neuro ICU nurse provided me with a strong foundation in critical care, where I witnessed firsthand the resilience of patients and families navigating devastating neurological illnesses. It was in those intense moments—where rapid decisions and compassionate care intersected—that I developed a profound respect for the nervous system and a desire to continue supporting patients beyond the ICU.  Transitioning into the neuromuscular specialty allowed me to build long-term relationships with patients, provide continuity of care, and be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on diagnosis, treatment, and support. I’m drawn to the complexity of neuromuscular diseases and the challenge of staying at the forefront of evolving therapies. More than anything, I value the opportunity to listen to patient's stories, help manage their symptoms, and advocate for their needs throughout their journey.
