Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist currently serving as an Attending at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital in Southampton, NY. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and also served as a Chief Gastroenterology Fellow at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Bhardwaj served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution. Dr. Bhardwaj earned his medical degree (MBBS) from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College & Hospital in India

His research interests include liver diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, and gastrointestinal bleeding. He is also passionate about the physiology of the gut-brain axis and a healthy enteric microbiome. He is an active member of several professional societies including the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE), the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
Throughout his career, Dr. Bhardwaj has been recognized for his clinical excellence and teaching abilities, receiving honors such as the Leo M. Davidoff Resident Teaching Star award and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Bhardwaj completed the Clinical Training Program (CTP) in Neurogastroenterology and Motility offered by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS).
