Heidy Merius, DNP

I was first introduced into Sleep Medicine through Stony Brook Sleep Technology School after graduating from Biology Program at Stony Brook University. Sleep disorders were fascinating, and I wanted to address sleep disorders on a deeper level. I had undergone more education to obtain my RN and eventually became a Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. When I graduated, the Sleep Medicine position at Stony Brook was available and with my Sleep Medicine background, I was able to restart caring for patients with Sleep Disorders.

I am very personable and passionate. People with Sleep Disorders need practitioners invested in them on a personal level, and I am able to provide this. While I do not currently conduct research, it is a future goal, and I am constantly reading articles to ensure that I am provided evidence-based care.

 All of my degrees are from Stony Brook University. I love the educational rigor and financial opportunities that the University provides for students from low-income families. Ston Brook Medicine/University has so much to offer and I wanted to be a part of it all.

I am passionate about optimizing sleep in people of all backgrounds with various health conditions and am willing to personalize treatment to obtain the best sleep health possible.
