About
As a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, I am driven by a passion for restoring form and function to my patients during their time of need. Whether facing a diagnosis of breast or other types of cancer, a traumatic wound, burn contractures, chronic wounds or a hand injury, I strive to treat every patient as an individual. I tailor their treatment plan to their needs, jobs and lifestyles.
Trained at Georgetown University Hospital by renowned pioneer in breast reconstruction, Dr. Scott Spear, I’ve had a love for breast reconstruction from very early on in my career. The time surrounding a breast cancer diagnosis can be frightening and full of difficult decisions, which can very quickly become overwhelming. My goal, and my privilege, is to try to make this time as easy as possible for my patients, while offering the most current and cutting edge options for their reconstruction.
This mindset extends to all aspects of my practice – including reconstruction of oncologic and traumatic wounds, as well as treatment of the full gamut of hand injuries and conditions – from carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger fingers to limb salvage and reimplantation. As a board-certified hand surgeon and plastic surgeon, I see surgery of the hand as a natural extension of plastic surgery, as it shares the same goals of restoring form and function of a part of the body that we all use for work, school, play and our activities of daily living. I am honored to treat patients of all ages, and to be able to take care of, and follow my patients, often from birth through adulthood. I see every patient consultation as the start of a relationship - a hallowed relationship since the time of Hippocrates - and it has been the honor of my lifetime to build these relationships during my more than 20 years in practice.
