Jennifer M Pynn, MD

Dr. Jennifer Pynn is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook University. She is currently the Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship. In this capacity, she is passionate about providing educational and emotional support to fellows as they advance their subspecialty training as future Neonatologists. She was an undergraduate at Stony Brook University and as a result, she has a strong connection to the campus. After completing her fellowship training in 2011, she became a practicing Neonatologist at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Dr. Pynn has a strong interest in non-invasive ventilation and the improvement of extubation success rates. She has been the Children's Hospital physician leader for unplanned extubation prevention working alongside a team of physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists to improve outcomes. Dr. Pynn also has had an interest in medical education including teaching trainees and improving their knowledge and skills.
