John Ferretti, MD

Dr. John Ferretti, Professor of Clinical Radiology & Surgery, received his MD degree from SUNY Downstate. Dr. Ferretti did his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center & SUNY Stony Brook. He went on to do his Angiography & Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Illinois & Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Upon finishing his fellowship he was appointed to the Radiology staff at Stony Brook University Hospital in 1988. Dr. Ferretti was then promoted to Section Chief of the Division of Interventional Radiology in 1990 and is largely responsible for the high standards and reputation the division has maintained in over 35 years. In December 2007, Dr. Ferretti was named Interim Chair of the Department of Radiology. He remained Chair for 6 years. In 2012 he took on the role of Vice Chair where he continues to serve in this capacity.
