Kathryn Fassnacht, NP

Kathryn is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and has worked in the field of pediatric rheumatology for over 10 years.  She is passionate about delivering quality care to patients with complex autoimmune diseases and is involved with both inpatient and outpatient rheumatic care. She believes the family is at the center of positive clinical outcomes in children suffering from rheumatic disease. An area of special interest is patient education as the initial diagnosis of a child with rheumatic disease can be overwhelming for families. Kathryn leads a Biologic/DMARD Teaching Clinic weekly that educates parents, caregivers, and children on administering injectable medications. The session provides information on potential side effects and benefits of immunosuppressive medication and provides families an opportunity to ask questions. She has expertise in prescribing and overseeing chemotherapeutic and biologic infusions administered at our pediatric infusion suite.
