Laura Montgomery, NP

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 at Stony Brook University and I began my nursing career in the cardiothoracic ICU and later in the cardiac cath lab. I received my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018 and, initially, went into primary care serving a vulnerable patient population where I gained great knowledge about complex comorbidities and learned first hand how social determinants of health impact someone’s overall health.
Being born and raised in Colombia has allowed me to serve and connect with the Hispanic population of Long Island. I am excited to return to SBUH and join the Cardiothoracic Surgery team. My hope is to continue to help those who need it the most.
