Lauren Spring, MD

My goal is to provide individualized psychiatric care to adults, children and adolescents.Dr. Lauren Spring is a child & adolescent psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Stony Brook Medicine. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis Psychology from Binghamton University (summa cum laude). Dr. Spring went on to complete her medical education at New York Medical College where she was member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency training in General Psychiatry as well as her fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry here at Stony Brook Medicine. After graduating she joined as faculty in the Department of Psychiatry, first working in the child and adolescent outpatient department, then as Medical Director of the Inpatient Child Psychiatry Unit and Associate Program Director of Residency Training. Currently, Dr. Spring is the Vice Chair of Education for the department and is the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency training program as well as the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program at Stony Brook University Hospital. Clinically, Dr. Spring specializes in child & adolescent psychiatry with a special interest in treating individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with emotional dysregulation.
