About Laurie E Panesar

About

Dr. Panesar is an expert in pediatric and fetal cardiology, with experience treating complex congenital heart disease and arrhythmia in patients ranging from fetal life through young adulthood. As a native Long Islander, Dr. Panesar loves caring for children and families in her community. Dr. Panesar chose a career in pediatric cardiology due to her love of cardiac imaging, interest in complex cardiac physiology, and her desire to provide longitudinal care for patients with complex medical problems. She strives to provide personalized, comprehensive care with attention to the needs of the whole family. She has conducted research in pediatric and fetal echocardiography, screening for sudden cardiac death, and the impact of COVID-19 on patients with congenital heart disease, MIS-C, and pediatric hypertension. She has a passion for improving the quality of healthcare delivery, optimizing the patient experience, and providing high-quality, evidence-based medicine. Dr. Panesar is married and has two school-aged children. She enjoys exercising, good food, reading, and standing on the sideline watching her kids play sports.
