Lesley Small-Harary, MD

Dr. Small-Harary is an expert in the care of children with gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional disorders. She has a particular interest in caring for patients with celiac disease and is the co-director of the Pediatric Celiac Disease and Gluten Sensitivity Center at Stony Brook Children’s. She is also passionate about caring for children with inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hepatic and pancreatic diseases, disorders of brain-gut interaction, and various feeding disorders. Working at an academic medical center allows for collaboration of care with other pediatric subspecialists and provides access to pediatric anesthesiologists for endoscopic procedures performed by Dr. Small-Harary. She works closely with two dedicated registered dieticians in the outpatient setting who specialize in care for pediatric gastroenterology patients. She is very involved in medical education and is the program director for the pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Stony Brook. Having been born and raised on Long Island she is now proud to be raising her two daughters on Long Island.
