Madieska Ramirez, MD

Dr. Ramirez is a Palliative Care physician who specializes in pain management, symptom relief, and comprehensive support for patients with life-limiting conditions. She joined Stony Brook Medicine in November 2023 as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine. She received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the Woodhull Medical Center. She then completed a Geriatric, as well as a Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship at the Northwell Health at Northshore University Hospital. 

Dr. Ramirez is passionate about caring for patients with dementia and their families by providing education, support, and symptom management. She also focuses on improving quality of life for people with other serious illnesses as well as educating trainees about the value of early palliative care. Dr. Ramirez is bilingual and can serve both English and Spanish speaking patients and families. 

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ramirez enjoys watching Liverpool and Manchester United football club matches, traveling and playing with her Yorkie Manny.
