Maribeth B. Chitkara, MD

Dr. Maribeth Chitkara is a pediatric hospitalist with over 20 years of experience caring for newborns and hospitalized pediatric patients with a broad range of diagnoses. A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Chitkara completed her residency and chief residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC in 2002.  She joined the faculty at Stony Brook Children’s in 2003 as one of the inaugural pediatric hospital medicine physicians and has enjoyed watching the division grow along with the hospital since that time.  In addition to patient care,

Dr. Chitkara is committed to the clinical education of Stony Brook Children’s medical students and resident physicians.  She currently serves as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in Pediatrics, and Medical Director of Acute Inpatient Pediatrics.
