About
I have had the privilege of working in the Stony Brook Emergency Department since 2016. While in school to become a Physician Assistant, I was never one-hundred-precent certain as to what field of medicine I wanted to work in. However, when I ended up becoming a patient, and getting the perspective of being “on the other side of the stretcher”, it opened my eyes in a sense of how I can truly help my future patients. Being a patient, particularly in the ER, is never an experience anyone wants to have to endure. Alarms, people yelling, the constant hustle and bustle, it can be overwhelming and terrifying. Knowing and feeling this at a personal level inspired me to work in this field and try to support my patients to the best of my ability. With every patient I see, my goal is to have them leave the ER knowing and having a sense that they were not only provided excellent medical care, but an overall calming and supportive experience during a time in which may truly be one of the darkest of their lives.
