Meera P Bhardwaj, MD

Dr. Bhardwaj is a board-certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist with advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University Middletown, CT where she achieved high honors in Art History.  She then went to Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University Philadelphia, PA, where she pursued the Population Health Track.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY in the Healthcare Leadership track.  She completed her Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Bronx, NY, and served as Chief Fellow.  She stayed on at Montefiore Medical Center.Albert Einstein College of Medicine for her Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship.

Dr. Bhardwaj is a member of the Advanced Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy team at Stony Brook University Hospital with expertise in pancreatic diseases, biliary tract diseases and malignant and pre-malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract.  She specializes in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), full thinckness resection (FTRD), Barrett's Esophagus therapies, double balloon enteroscopy (DBE) and endoluminal stent placement.
