I have always found it to be a privilege to care for women during some of the most delicate and fragile times in their lives.  A patient once told me, "I knew no matter what I said, you would welcome me in open arms".  I knew at that moment that I was successful in my care with her and hopefully others.  Since I work with high-risk prenatal patients, they are under incredible stress and sometimes it becomes all about that.  I hopefully give them a piece of normalcy in their pregnancy, in talking about breastfeeding, eating well, and all the things pregnant women want to talk about to be joyful about their pregnancy.
