About
I began working at the Stony Brook University Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center in 1994. Both Dr Patricia Coyle and Dr Lauren Krupp were my mentors and taught me about multiple sclerosis. The 1990’s were an amazing time in MS in that for the first time, therapies were being discovered. I loved working with the patients and educating them about their disease and the various treatment options. I felt that as a nurse, I could have a positive impact on the patients. I went back to school for my graduate degree and became an Adult Nurse Practitioner. The field of MS research has continued to grow exponentially. I have been actively involved in MS research both industry sponsored clinical trials and investigator initiated studies. I have obtained my MS Nursing Certification status. I am currently on the board of the International Organization of MS Nurses. I am the past president of the Long Island MS Nurses Society. I have authored numerous journal articles for peer reviewed publications. I have lectured nationally to MS patient groups as well as to peers at National and International MS meetings. It is my very great privilege to continue to work with and for this patient population and help them in their journey with this devastating neurological disease.
