About Richard D Dickinson

About

It was not until I completed all of my clinical rotations in medical school that I realized Emergency Medicine would be my final destination. I grew up working with my father, a carpenter and “Jack of all trades,” who taught me how to fix just about anything. Emergency Medicine was the best fit for my personality, as I did not want to be confined to a specific specialty. I have lived in Suffolk County my whole life, and most of my family still lives here. My undergraduate, medical school, and residency training have all been at Stony Brook University, and I have worked here as an attending since 2001. My research focus more recently has been related to quality assurance, and I have been the Quality Liaison for the Department of Emergency Medicine since 2001.
