Shivany Pathania, MD

Dr. Pathania is a board-certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist providing comprehensive care for children with gastrointestinal, nutritional, and liver disorders. She attended Boston University followed by New York Medical College, with Pediatric Residency completed at nearby Cohen Children's Medical Center and Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship completed at Hasbro Children's Hospital at Brown University. Dr. Pathania actively contributes to the field through clinical research and abstracts while remaining up to date with evolving evidence based guidelines to provide the best care for her patients.

She treats the full spectrum of pediatric gastrointestinal conditions, such as nutritional issues, Obesity, reflux, constipation, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Celiac Disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease, in addition to performing endoscopic procedures. She additionally provides expertise in the Stony Brook Healthy Weight and Wellness Center and multidisciplinary Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Clinic.

Dr. Pathania prides herself in a patient-centric approach including partnership with patients and their families and collaboration with other Stony Brook expert subspecialists as needed, to provide comprehensive and effective treatment. She is passionate about becoming a team with patients and families to restore quality of life and foster a physician-patient relationship with a foundation in compassion and understanding while providing excellent care to help children with their gastrointestinal conditions.
