Suhu Liu, MD

Dr. Suhu Liu is a hematologist and medical oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic malignancies, with a research focus in acute myeloid leukemia. She received her M.D. and PhD degree from the Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. She then came to United States and pursued postdoctoral research training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School in Boston.  In order to continue patient care, she further completed Internal Medicine residency training at Montefiore of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Hematology & Oncology fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital. Because of her extensive experience in cancer research, Dr. Liu deeply appreciates how research has transformed patient care. She received abstract achievement award from American Society of Hematology (ASH) in 2012, Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) (T32) Training grant for Hematologist from National Cancer Institute from 2012 to 2016, and CAHON Young Investigator Award (YIA) in 2022. Dr. Liu is inspired to provide the best care for her patients so they can live their life with as much normalcy as possible despite a cancer diagnosis. She also closely collaborates with scientists to enhance understanding the pathogenesis and develop novel biomarkers and therapeutic approaches for patients with hematological malignancy.
