Sushma Gaddam, MD

Dr. Sushma Gaddam is a breast radiologist at Stony Brook Renaissance School of Medicine and the Director of Breast Imaging at the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.  She is a proud alumnus of Stony Brook University where she majored in Biochemistry and went to medical school at New York Medical College. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency at New York University School of Medicine as well as a subspecialty fellowship in breast imaging also at NYU School of Medicine. She served as Assistant Professor at NYU before joining Stony Brook in 2023. With extensive expertise in breast imaging, Dr. Gaddam specializes in the early detection and accurate diagnosis of breast diseases, including breast cancer. Dr. Gaddam employs a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the highest standard of patient care.   Dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in breast imaging, Dr. Gaddam has contributed to research and education in the field including artificial intelligence and its role in improving radiologists’ performance in breast cancer detection. She has also published on male breast cancer risk assessment/screening recommendations.   In her spare time, Dr. Gaddam likes to spend time with her husband and 2 little kids, travel, and ride the Peloton.
