About Tara Boyle

About

Tara Boyle is a physician assistant specializing in interventional pain management at Stony Brook Medicine’s Chronic Pain Management Center and a Clinical Instructor of Anesthesiology at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.

She completed dual undergraduate studies in Biology and Human Services at The George Washington University and earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from the New York Institute of Technology. Tara began her clinical career in neurosurgery at a Level I trauma center in the Bronx, training alongside distinguished physicians and faculty from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. There, she developed broad experience evaluating and treating complex neurological conditions—including brain, spine, and peripheral nerve disorders—across emergency, inpatient, perioperative, and outpatient settings. This foundation in spine pathology, neurotrauma, and post-surgical pain naturally led her to the intersection of neurosurgery and pain medicine. Tara transitioned to the full-time practice of interventional pain management in 2018.

Since then, Tara has cared for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to lumbar radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, arthritis, soft-tissue injuries, migraine, and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Before entering clinical practice, she spent six years working with individuals with developmental disabilities—experience that continues to guide her compassionate, individualized approach. She partners closely with patients to craft evidence-based, goal-oriented care plans that emphasize function, quality of life, and long-term well-being.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with family, gardening, baking, and exploring nature.
