Tara M McSweeney, NP

I received my Registered Nursing degree from York College of Pennsylvania in 1995. I then went on to pursue my Master's in Nursing from Molloy College, while working full time at St. Francis Hospital in the Step-Down and Recovery Room.
I graduated from Molloy College in 2000 and have been working in the vascular surgery arena ever since. For the past 12 years, I have been working with the Stony Brook Vascular and Endovascular Surgery team, which is my second home. 
Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with vascular disease is both interesting and rewarding. I pride myself on effective and prompt communication skills and I have bonded with many patients and their families. My main focus is to create an environment where the patient's anxiety and stress of preoperative and operative worries are addressed.
