I was inspired by both my parents who have richly contributed to what my  caring definition is.  My parents lived in small village of Tanzania where there were no doctors or hospitals available in close proximity. They had to travel for miles before finding these services. My mother was very good in home remedies and all the neighbors would come and seek advise and treatment from her. My father always had interest in medicine but because he was orphan and was poor could not afford to join medical school. My father was very knowledgeable and shared with me about many medical related topics such as good handwashing technique, use of probiotics and many other things which really amazed me as literature is just been coming out in past few years. My parents were both dedicated in helping others. These are the values I hold in taking care of my patients. It is important for me to hold these ethical values that I grew up with in rendering well balanced care to my patients. I feel humbled and honored to have met many patients and colleagues in my profession in the last 35 years or so who have greatly contributed to my wealth of knowledge.
