About
Teresa Stables-Carney, MS, RN, PPCNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She has been working for 29 years as the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center Pediatric and Adult Program Coordinator at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She currently serves as the CF Center quality improvement (QI) lead and works closely with her CF Team and patient and family partners, through the CF Learning Network of the CF Foundation (CFF), creating a culture and pathway to improvement in the Stony Brook CF Center. Recent projects include telehealth, pulmonary function improvement, adherence to the CFF guidelines of care, mentoring, CF newborn screening, CF transition and ownership of care, community of practice and interdisciplinary care, the partnership enhancement program, and the Trust Project of CFF. Teresa is most proud of her work dedicated to co-production and is closely engaged with CFF as the nationwide facilitator for The Program Coordinator Mentoring Project. She has embraced the QI movement. Her unique quality of strong communication skills and passion for helping others have been an asset in her career dedicated to CF Care
