At the age of 16 I was involved in a trauma which resulted in multiple surgeries and ultimately amputation of my right leg. While I'm extremely grateful to my entire care team there were a few individuals who stand out in my mind. It's over 30 years later and I still remember talking with Dr. Daniel Richman and thinking to myself that "Someday I'm going to do what he does." I consider it an honor and privilege to take care of my patients the way I remember my team taking care of me. While each patient's experience is unique, I never forget what it was like for me to be the patient. Although I was born in Queens I did my medical training and Residency in Stony Brook. After considering multiple options I realized that Stony Brook was where I wanted to stay.
