Veronique Deutsch Anzalone, PsyD

Dr. Veronique Deutsch-Anzalone is a clinical psychologist and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Stony Brook School of Medicine. She obtained her PsyD PMH-C from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. During her time in graduate school she obtained specialized training in evidence-based treatments with an emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. Her clinical internship training was with the Devereux Foundation in Malvern, PA. Before joining Stony Brook, Dr. Deutsch-Anzalone obtained eight years of experience working in her own group practice with her husband and colleagues where she specialized in womens health, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and LGBTQ issues with adults and adolescents. Upon starting Stony Brook, she has helped to build an integrated GI Womens Health clinic which offers gastroenterology, nutrition, psychiatry, and psychology services for women who are experiencing pain and illness that may have underlying psychological causes. Dr. Deutsch-Anzalone also plays an active role in working to create an integrated care program similar to the GIWH clinic in OBGYN. In addition to working with the OB population individually, she actively runs a Cognitive-Behaviorally based group for pregnant mothers experiencing anxiety. She is currently certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C), a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia Provider (CBT-I), and a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP). Dr. Deutsch-Anzalone believes in empowering patients by teaching them to take control of their anxiety and depression by recognizing maladaptive patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and utilizing skills to overcome them for the rest of their lives.
