Dr. Vishal Patel, MD is a Board-Certified Radiologist specializing in Neuroradiology. He is Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a neuroradiologist, he has expertise in MRI and CT imaging of common and rare pathology that effects the brain, spine and head and neck.

Dr. Patel sought a career in Neuroradiology in part to have an impact in accurate and timely diagnosis of acute stroke. During his fellowship training, he gained expertise in advanced state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as functional MRI, tractography and brain tumor perfusion imaging. He routinely participates in multidisciplinary Tumor Board meetings as an integral part of the healthcare team to provide the best care for his patients. He performs image-guided procedures such as lumbar punctures and myelograms. Dr. Patel stated that he "has the privilege to teach and train medical students, residents and fellows on a daily basis."
